CAIRO: Arab League General Secretariat has condemned the Israeli brutal aggression in the area of Jamraya in Damascus.
On Wednesday, Israeli jets targeted a scientific research centre, killing and injuring a number of Syrian citizens.
In a press statement issued Thursday, Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil El-Arabi denounced the Israeli aggression and considered it as a clear violation of an Arab state's lands and sovereignty and a violation of the UN Charter and the norms of international law as well as the international agreements and conventions and the relevant Security Council resolutions .
Dr. Nabil El-Arabi urged the International Community to shoulder its responsibilities and put an end to Israel's continued attacks on the Arab countries, stressing that the international community's silence on Israel's attack of Syrian sites in the past encouraged it to proceed with the new aggression exploiting the deteriorating security situation in Syria.
The Arab League Secretary-General emphasized the need to hold Israel full responsibility for the results of the latest aggression and the right of Syria to defend its territory and sovereignty and to seek full compensation for human and material losses caused by this aggression. (QNA)
