Doha, Qatar: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, Kahramaa, cautioned residents and citizens to be careful while handling electrical devices during rainfall.
The corporation in a social media post noted that leaving electrical devices exposed to rain as well as touching or operating electrical devices with wet hands must be avoided.
It further explained not to pick up any electrical devices that has fallen into water but should be disconnected from the power supply and to make sure outdoor electrical panel boxes and lighting are not damaged.
In the event of a sudden power outage, devices from electrical outlets should be immediately disconnected and one should avoid standing under tall and isolated trees.
Kahramaa advised not to touch outdoor light poles, avoid using electrical extensions in wet places, ensure regular maintenance of electrical connections and water pumping and provide emergency light to use when needed.
