Doha: An all-round display from Tanveer helped Al Feroz Youngsters to steer his team to a comprehensive victory in the final of the QCA Super Cup 2016.
At the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Industrial Area, Tanveer first smashed a scintillating 74. During the chase later, he emerged as the wrecker-in-chief grabbing five HBK wickets, which fetched him the Man-of-the-Final Award.
The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA), President MA Shahid, organised the tournament for the top four teams of the Qatar Airways Division A League.
QCA General Secretary Manzoor Ahmad and Gul Mohammad Khan – Head of Domestic Cricket presided over the closing ceremony and presented the awards. He congratulated the winners, especially Tanveer for his stellar showing.
Batting first, Al Feroz Youngsters hit up 164 for five in 20 overs. Besides Tanveer’s thrilling knock, Qalandar made 23, while Inam and Noman contributed 20 each.
Mughees, Ajantha and Joseph bagged a wicket each.
HBK failed to negotiate with the deadly bowling of Tanveer and they collapsed at 112.
Dilshari and Ajantha put up the strongest resistance, hitting 36 and 22, respectively. Nimantha got 15 and Joseph made 10.
Apart from Tanveer, Mujeeb, Inam, Nadeem and Noman scalped a player each.
