Lahore: As many as 2,900 wardens would be deputed in different areas of the city to keep traffic flow smooth in Pakistani city of Lahore on the eve of New Year, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Syed Ahmed Mobeen yesterday.
He said they had devised a traffic plan to keep the flow of traffic smooth during New Year’s celebrations for the residents of the city.
The City Traffic Police have also made adequate arrangements throughout the city for the smooth flow and regulation of traffic on New Year’s Eve.
As many as 2,900 wardens, three SPs, 11 DSPs and 97 inspectors will be deputed to monitor traffic on the city roads.
The DIG said a special anti-one-wheeling squad would also be deputed on roads for monitoring and strict action would be taken against the one-wheelers.
He said they had also planned to deal with those youngsters who remove bike silencers to create noise on the roads.
“The violators will have to face strict action,” he added.
Mobeen advised the Lahorites to follow traffic rules and obey instructions given to them by police personnel deployed on the ground.
