Al Sadd's head coach Jesualdo Ferreira (centre) celebrate along with his players their 2-1 victory over El Jaish in the Qatar Cup final at Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday.
Al Sadd's victorious coach Jesualdo Ferreira couldn't stop smiling after his side beat arch-rivals and defending champions El Jaish to lift the Qatar Cup on Saturday.
A day later, he confidently declared Al Sadd is capable of completing a trophy double when the football season ends later this month.
Al Sadd, captained by Barca legend Xavi, on Saturday scored one goal in each half for a 2-1 win over El Jaish in the final played at Al Sadd Stadium.
It was Xavi's first trophy in Qatar following his move from Barcelona at the end of the 2015 season.
Baghdad Bounedjah (21) and Jugurtha Hamroun (73) scored for the winners while Uzbek forward Sardor Rashidov managed the only goal for El Jaish in the 39th minute.
After suitable rest following a frenzied session of celebration and a series of 'selfies' with Xavi and other team-mates, Ferreira said: "This is my first trophy with Al Sadd. I am very proud of this title win."
Ferreira turned his attention to Emir Cup when he said: "I hope we go on to win the Emir Cup as well. That's the most popular football event in the country. Right now, our confidence is soaring and we can go all the way in the Emir Cup.
"We have worked extremely hard right throughout the season," Ferreira said in an interview yesterday.
"We wanted to and we could have won the Qatar Stars League (QSL) title but we did not do it," he said.

Ferreira termed the final against El Jaish as a 'tough' assignment.
"The game was tough and we played a very strong outfit in El Jaish," the Portuguese said.
"Their player balance on the pitch is amazing," he added. "We need some more hard work in our coming (Emir Cup) game," he said.
"Our focus was on winning and lifting the title is praise-worthy. A victory in a final like this is what matters," he said.
"We qualified for a big game and we managed to win it as well. That's the most important thing for me. When you play well, the victory is what remains. We got the title we wanted and this Cup now goes into the Al Sadd trophy cabinet," said the coach.
"I thank all the fans who came and supported us strongly and now we will start thinking about the upcoming Al Khairatiyat match in the Emir Cup," he said.
"We had to do something for our fans. They have been supporting us throughout the season," Hamroun, who scored the winning goal, said.
"It always feels to do well in front of the home fans.
"We worked extremely hard to reach this point. We are happy with our performance," the Algerian added.
