Alsharbatly shines as Qatar’s Al Ansari bags win at H H The Father Amir’s Prix

Doha, Qatar: Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly and stallion Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior continued their brilliant run in Doha, claiming another major victory in the opening Tour of the inaugural H H The Father Amir’s Prix at Al Shaqab yesterday.

After winning the CSI4* 1.45m Faults & Time on Friday night, the pair dazzled the Longines Outdoor Arena with a breathtaking performance in the CSI4* 1.50m Jump-Off, wrapping up the second day of Tour 1.

Clocking 80.77 seconds in the first round, Alsharbatly and the 17-year-old bay delivered a flawless jump-off in 39.95 seconds to secure victory. Austria’s Max Kuhner on Eic Quantum Robin V finished second in 40.73 seconds, while Sienna Charles aboard Stardust took third in 41.04 seconds.

Reflecting on another successful day at Al Shaqab, Alsharbatly praised both the stallion and the event.

“I am really happy. It’s been a fantastic day - two wins with two different horses is always special,” said the Saudi rider who earlier in the day topped the CSI2* 1.30m Special Two-Phase with Dr Scarpo.

“Boeckmanns Lord Pezi is a superstar. He gave everything in the contest and I also gave everything. I am thankful to my supporters here. What the Qatari federation is doing is like a miracle. It is amazing for the sport.”

Earlier, Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano topped the CSI4* 1.45m Faults & Time with a clear round in 65.34 seconds aboard Vasco 118. Fellow Italian Roberto Previtali was second on Chaquano PS in 67.33 seconds, while Austria’s Gerfried Puck claimed third place with Idiaal Special H.J. in 68.47 seconds.Qatari rider Ali Omar A H Al Ansari celebrates on the podium after winning the CSI1* 1.15m Faults & Time. Britain’s Millie Allen won the CSI2* 1.45m Faults & Time, stopping the clock at 64.86 seconds on the mare Quick Diamant HR. Germany’s Philipp Weishaupt was second on Callao L in 66.85 seconds, with France’s Megane Moissonnier third on Qoup de Coeur de Muze in 67.08 seconds.

In the CSI2* 1.35m Faults & Time, Egypt’s Mohamed Elshenawy led an Egyptian one-two aboard the eight-year-old Kamelia DS, finishing in 65.44 seconds. Haya Osama El Borai was second on Kadoky in 68.53 seconds, and France’s Megane Moissonnier third on Chacarija PS in 68.87 seconds.

Al Ansari delivers impressive performance at Indoor Arena

At the Longines Indoor Arena, Qatari rider Ali Omar A H Al Ansari impressed to win the CSI1* 1.15m Faults & Time aboard Nikita Eindeken Z, stopping the clock at 52.60 seconds. Syria’s Sarah Al Masri on Georgia de Maugre was second in 56.63 seconds, while Saudi Arabia’s Abdulmohsen Alshammari on Felton des Cinq Chenes finished third in 56.76 seconds.

“It’s a great feeling to win here at Al Shaqab. Nikita Eindeken Z jumped with confidence, and everything came together for a clear round. Later at the Indoor Arena, Alsharbatly aboard Dr Scarpo was followed by Qatar’s Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei on Flash du Puits and Saudi Arabia’s Fahad Aljuaid on Fatina.

Saudi Arabia’s Bader Alfard, riding the bay gelding Murdock, claimed the CSI1* 1.25m Faults & Time in 58.38 seconds, while Egypt’s Fatima Mohanad Alkishawi on Quintalou was second in 59.90 seconds, and Saudi rider Abdulaziz Fahad Aleid on Kayenne Of de Rocky Mounten third in 59.91 seconds.

Tour 1 wraps up today with seven contests scheduled, including the CSI4* 1.55m Jump-Off, CSI2* 1.45m Jump-Off, and CSI1* 1.30m Jump-Off Grands Prix.

The H H The Father Amir’s Prix, comprising four Tours, is part of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026, which brings together elite riders and horses across multiple championships.
