SIF-Q announces winners of Shastra Pratibha contest

Doha: Science India Forum -Qatar (SIF-Q) has announced  “Shastra Pratibhas” (Genius in Science) selected through level 2 of Shastra Pratibha Contest  at Qatar State Level camp and National Toppers from level 3 of Shastra Pratibha Contest  held at National Level Camp held in India. 

Due to the pandemic this year, SIF-Q conducted Shastra Pratibha Contest (SPC-2020-21) online. 

The contest was held in two levels before the selected students were nominated to participate in the National Level Camp. SPC level 1 saw participation of over 1,500 students from Indian schools all over Qatar. SPC level 1 was the first online open book contest held on December 30, 2020. A total of 120 students were selected to participate in the Shastra Pratibha level 2 —State Level Camp. 

As a part of Qatar State Level Camp, a special orientation program was conducted by subject experts from and outside Qatar on the topics like Atomic Energy, Agriculture, Oceanography and Science-Behind-Toys. The main objectives of SPC are to create interest among students in pure sciences, to educate them about India’s contributions in science and technology from traditional to modern age, conduct extensive interactive sessions with scientists, identify and nurture students with scientific temperament. Online app-based final evaluation of SPC Level-2 was held   for junior category and senior category students. Twelve students qualified as the Shastra Pratibhas from Qatar. 

These Shastra Pratibhas then participated in National Level Mamp and 2 Genius in Science each for junior category (Grade 6 to Grade 8) and Senior Category (Grade 9 to Grade 11) were selected. National Level Camp winners from Qatar include   Ashley Hemanth (Junior category) and   Teertha Aravind (Senior category).

SIF-Q thanked all Indian schools management, teachers and parents for encouraging students in SPC participation.
