DOHA: Some 99 residential plots of sizes from 436sqm to 2,000sqm were sold in Al Wukair locality of Al Wakra town in the week from October 26 to 30.
Real estate transaction details released by the Ministry of Justice yesterday show that out of 245 deals, 99 were related to residential plots in Al Wukair. The total value of the deals was QR774.36m. No big transactions were concluded in the week.
The prices of Al Wukair plots ranged from QR800,000 to QR7m depending on size.
Contacted for comment, real estate expert and evaluator, Khalifa Al Muslemani, told this newspaper that there was increasing demand for small plots for villas in Al Wukair because of its proximity to Hamad International Airport and the New Doha Port.
Also, land prices are still low in Al Wukair compared to other areas, he added. Many people buying small plots are investors as they would build houses for rentals amid an increasingly heavy influx of foreign workers into the country for the 2022 FIFA event. The Peninsula
