Kabul: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Commerce and Trade has announced it would buy fuel from Russia to reduce fuel prices. Deputy Trade and Commerce Minister, Mozamil Shinwari, told reporters that a delegation will visit Russia soon to finalise the deal, according to Khaama Press. He said sanctions against Iran had affected fuel prices and supply in Afghanistan, and the government had decided to purchase fuel from Russia to meet demand. He said the deal will pave the way for the purchase of fuel by both the government and private companies, which will import diesel and petrol. The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries welcomed the decision and urged that the fuel should be purchased only by the government  to have control over prices.
