Doha, Qatar: The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), in coordination with the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Labour, has launched the “Legal Path to the Labour Market 2026” initiative to prepare qualified Qatari legal cadres for seamless integration into the public and private sectors.

The initiative was officially unveiled yesterday during a special launch meeting at which a number of recent law graduates were present, according to posts on CGB’s official social media accounts.

The event featured a high-level panel that underscored the programme’s role in addressing labour market needs and enhancing the employability of national talent.

Director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al Khaldi, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative. He stressed that it would qualify participants with the practical skills and knowledge required to enter the workforce effectively, describing it as a key step in building a robust national legal workforce capable of meeting the demands of both government and private entities.

Director of the Nomination and Replacement Department at the CGB, Dhabia Ahmed Al-Buainain, described the programme as “a thoughtful response to the needs of the labour market”.

She explained that it provides recent graduates with a comprehensive qualification experience designed to support their readiness and enable them to integrate efficiently into professional environments.

Panellists addressed an audience of young Qatari professionals, many of whom are poised to benefit directly from the new pathway.

The initiative forms part of broader national efforts to develop specialised human capital in line with Qatar’s long-term vision for sustainable economic growth and localisation of key professions. By focusing on practical training, legal competencies, and workplace readiness, the programme aims to bridge the gap between academic qualifications and real-world demands in the legal field.

Organisers noted that the “Legal Path to the Labour Market 2026” will offer structured support, including targeted training modules, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to professional environments across government and private institutions.

The year-long focus reflects the government’s commitment to empowering young nationals and ensuring a steady supply of skilled Qatari lawyers, legal advisors, and compliance professionals.

Officials at the event emphasised that the initiative represents a collaborative model between key ministries and the CGB, setting a precedent for future sector-specific programmes aimed at recent graduates.

Participants left the meeting with clear guidance on how to engage with the pathway and take advantage of its resources.

Further details on application procedures and programme components are expected to be announced through the official channels of the partnering ministries and the CGB in the coming weeks.
