The major retailer of the region Lulu Hypermarket Qatar has launched 4th Edition of ‘Let’s Eatalian Festival’ offering wide range of high quality Italian food products and highlighting the Italian excellence in the food sector.
The week-long festival is showcasing fresh fruits and vegetables to cheeses and dairy products, olive oil to pasta, sauces and salad dressings like balsamic vinegar, canned vegetables, canned tomato as well as the best Italian rice, confectionary, coffee, biscuits, chocolates, sauces, spices, condiments and many more.
The event is being held in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Qatar.
The promotion titled ‘Let’s Eatalian - Authentically Italian Products Promotion in Qatar 2020-21’, is the fourth and the last quarterly edition as per the agreement that was signed in July’2020 between the ITA and LuLu Hypermarket Qatar.
Ambassador of Italy to Qatar H E Alessandro Prunas inaugurated the festival yesterday at Lulu Hypermarket, Al Messila branch. Addressing the event, Prunas said that ‘Let’s Etalian Festival’ is being held at Lulu Hypermarket regularly. “This is my fourth visit to Lulu Hypermarket to open Italian Festival during my presence in Qatar since one and a half year, which shows great partnership between Embassy of Italy in Qatar and Lulu Hypermarket in holding the festival on regular basis.”
“The partnership is growing fast in terms of increasing the availability of Italian products in Qatar. I am really happy to see that the range of products, which Lulu is bringing from Italy to Qatar through the agreement between Lulu and Italian Trade Commission,” said the Ambassador.
He said that only quantity of Italy products in Lulu shelves are not increasing but the quality products as well. “Italy offers quality food products in large quantity. Italian food always associated with high quality and healthy products,” said the Ambassador.
He said that eating Italian food products means eating healthy. “Through the bridge which we created through Lulu, we are expanding a culture of nutrition, which is very important,” said the Ambassador.
Italian Trade Commissioner to Qatar Giosafat Rigano said that Let’s Etalian Festival is very important to promote Italian products in Qatar. He said that a new business hub of Lulu is going to open soon in Milan city of Italy. “The new Lulu facility in Italy wills open doors for new projects, activities and promotional activities to enhance import from Italy to Qatar.”
Describing Lulu Hypermarket an extraordinary partner for Italian Trade Commission, Rigano said: “I feel proud to be in partnership with Lulu during past four years. We made great achievements in enhancing the import from Italy to Qatar.”
Director of Lulu Group International Dr. Mohamed Althaf said that Let’s Eatalian Festival is getting tremendous popularity by the time attracting large number of visitors. “Visitors will find a lot of innovation at the festival. I am happy to announce that many new food product categories that are not typically associated with other supermarkets in Qatar are being showcased at the festival,” said Dr. Althaf.
He said that this shows that the commitment and support which Lulu received from Italian Trade Agency in facilitating to import quality products from Italy to Qatar. “We have fantastic ranges of Italian food items, which are now expanding. Italian food is very popular in tastes, quality, and safety standards. In addition, we are able to bring all functional food categories – gluten free, organic and other healthy ranges,” said Dr. Althaf.
The Festival is a great way to explore the tastes and goodness of Italian ingredients at prices that are deliciously surprising. The Festival’s opening was graced by an exciting cookery demo of Italian cuisine.
The fourth edition of the promotional campaign will run for a week and is dedicated to the Italian culinary and food tradition and largely focused on boosting the sales of authentic Italian food products in Qatar. Rather than a festival of Italian food, it is more of a celebration of the rich heritage of advances made by Italy in various sectors.
As a large-scale importer of Italian products for decades together, Lulu Hypermarket has been conducting Italian Festival since last 16 years in succession.
