Kashmir: Seven militants and an army soldier were killed in separate clashes after rebels infiltrated the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, Indian officials said Thursday.

Three militants and a soldier were killed on Thursday in a gun battle that erupted after militants crossed from Pakistani-administered Kashmir into Indian-controlled Naugam sector, media reports quoted Indian defence sources as saying.

Four more insurgents were killed earlier on Wednesday night in Macchil sector after the Indian army foiled a similar attempt by rebels to sneak into Indian Kashmir.
