Doha, Qatar: Lusail coach Emanuel Mesquita said his side are looking to continue their impressive performances when they face Al Shahania in Week 5 of the Qatar Stars League at Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday.
Lusail have made a strong start to their debut QSL season and are sixth with five points from four matches.
They drew 0-0 with Al Gharafa in their last outing, while Al Shahania are seventh with four points after a 1-1 draw against Al Duhail.
“We know that Al Shahania are a very good team, and the match will be a major challenge for both sides. We hope to continue achieving positive results. That is always our objective: to collect as many points as possible,” Mesquita said at a press conference yesterday.
The Portuguese coach said the international break had also helped the team prepare for the next phase of the season.
“The preparations for the match have been very good this week.
"The international break was useful for improving certain details, especially as the team also had a very good period of rest,” he said.
Lusail midfielder Abdulhadi Al-Oun said the squad were ready for the challenge after an intensive training period.
“The training sessions during the past period were very intense, and we tried to be in the best possible condition as the Qatar Stars League resumed. Thankfully, we are ready and aiming to put in a good performance and achieve a positive result,” he said.
