KARACHI: Reham Khan, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, arrived in Karachi on Thursday to accompany her husband on a political rally to campaign for the upcoming by-election in Karachi’s NA-246 constituency.
“I have come to Karachi to support Khan sahib,” said Reham upon her arrival from Islamabad via a PIA flight around noon.
Reham said she would support her husband in all his endeavors.
The PTI chairman had earlier told reporters that he had not invited his wife to the rally and that she had come of her own will. Reham wanted to take part in the Karachi rally herself, he said.
“If Khan sahib was playing in the World Cup or climbing the K2 mountain, I would also go there to support him,” she said.
Reham said she would go back to Islamabad with Imran, but assured that she would return to Karachi soon.
When asked about no-go areas in the NA-246 constituency Reham replied: “There are no no-go areas for Khan sahib or myself in Pakistan”.
When asked about MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s invitation to visit Azizabab, Reham said this was a sign that ‘tabdeeli’ (change) had already arrived.
Reham was accompanying Imran Khan as he visits different areas of NA-246 constituency in Azizabad, said to be a stronghold of the MQM where the by-election is scheduled to be held on April 23.
PTI workers have also arranged a lunch for Imran and Reham at the residence of Nadia Rabbani.
