New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would train personnel of private agencies which will grant accreditation to schools, an official said yesterday.

“The board will train persons from the 12 private agencies as peer assessors,” Rama Sharma, CBSE chief public relations manager, said.

The accreditation would be awarded once the schools meet the domains of infrastructure, innovation and academics, Sharma said.

“The schools will have to pay a fee of Rs50,000 for accreditation which will be renewed every three years,” added Sharma.

The initiative is being taken by the board to enhance the quality of school education.

The CBSE is the board of education for public and private schools and conducts final examinations for Class 10 and 12.
