Qatar jumps up Fifa world rankings

Zurich: Qatar has moved up one place to 111th in the latest Fifa world rankings list released yesterday. The US at 19th, up three places, and Mauritania, up 21 rungs, were the biggest movers, while Spain was leading the way ahead of Germany, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands. Among GCC countries,  Oman was the biggest gainer, moving up four places to 95 with China. Bahrain moved up one place to 117th,  the UAE to 84th,  one up, while Saudi Arabia and Kuwait dropped two places to 107th and 113th, respectively. The top 12 remained unchanged. The next rankings will be published on September 12.
