DOHA: Kulluna safety awareness campaign road show will be held at the Landmark Mall from tomorrow until Sunday.
The Kulluna campaign aims to raise awareness in the community about preventable injuries and illnesses, to improve health and wellbeing and give information about the medical services and facilities offered by the government healthcare provider, Hamad Medical Corporation.
The event is sponsored by ConocoPhillips Qatar.
‘Kulluna’ means ‘All of us’ and is based on the belief that everyone can take action to improve health, wellbeing and safety for themselves, their family and the community.
Dr Khalid Abdulnoor Saifeldeen, Director of the Hamad International Training Center (HITC), a partner in Kulluna, said: “The first part of the campaign is dedicated to child safety through a target campaign titled ‘Keep us safe!’ We chose to start with water safety because the statistics show that in Qatar we could do much more to protect children from the dangers of water. A child can drown in less than two minutes in as little as 5cm of water in absolute silence.”
He continued: “With the road shows we aim to raise awareness on the dangers of water and what families can do to keep their children safe.
“Those parents who visited us in City Center mall before the Eid break were able to talk to medical professionals and safety experts and the children had fun playing interactive educational games featuring our safety heroes Salem and Salma, the Kulluna campaign mascots. All of this will be available again at Landmark and we hope to meet lots more families there.”
When launching the first road show, ConocoPhillips Qatar President, Gary Sykes emphasised that Health and Safety are two core commitments at ConocoPhillips.
The Kulluna road show will be held from 4pm to 9pm located close to the food court.
