Doha: Qatar Exchange gained 91.91 points, or 0.76 percent, as it closed yesterday at 12,235.92 points up from the previous closing of 12,144.01.
The volume of shares traded increased to 10,146,931 from 5,337,151 yesterday, and the value of shares rose to QR475,629,196.15 from QR251,101,773.29.
Among the top gainers were Commerce Bank whose share was up 0.72 percent to QR69.90 and Qatar Islamic Bank with added 2.57 percent to QR103.60 per share. Vodafone Qatar gained 2.32 percent to QR18.05 and Nakilat rose by 0.20 percent to QR24.99.
Banking and financial services sector was up 1.26 percent to touch 3,271.39 points while Industries sector down 0.12 percent 4,035.39 points. Real estate sector added 0.81 percent to 2,410.1 points and consumer goods & services sector added 0.08 percent to 7,165.74 points.
From the 43 listed companies shares of 41 saw trading. From these, 26 gained, 12 declined and two remained unchanged.
Meanwhile most markets in the Gulf region moved little because of uncertainty about oil prices. But Egypt continued to rise after strong economic data.
