Civil Defence holds mock fire drills

Doha: The General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD) supervised on a mock drill at Ashghal towers 1 and 2 at Dafna district. 

The mock drill started with a break out of smoke and fire in the 16th floor of the tower No. 1 and another fire at 10th floor of the tower 2 on the same time. Immediately, the safety staff started giving instructions for the employees as well as the customers through microphones to evacuate the premise through the emergency exits and supervised on the evacuation process and guided the guests and employees towards the safe assembly point.  The GDCD also supervised another mock drill held for Movenpick Hotel located at Old Ghanim district yesterday, which was implemented by the safety and security officials of the hotel. 

Head of Azeezia fire station and fire extinguishing Officer at Civil Defence Captain Khamees Salim Al Suwaidi stated that the drill has been organised as a part of the plan of the General Directorate of Civil Defence for raising the standard of awareness among the employees of various establishments of the country in order to train them on how to deal with risks and fire and improve the capability of concerned staffers in applying safety procedures in those establishments.
