DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) have successfully completed a two-year project to revalidate all consultants working in the respective organisations.
Nearly 800 consultants from HMC and PHCC have had their credentials revalidated against the international benchmark criteria used by Medical Validation Ireland (MVIRL), a consortium of renowned international certifying authorities in Ireland.
HMC’s Managing Director, Dr Hanan Al Kuwari, said that the primary function of revalidation was to safeguard the best possible standards of care for patients. “Achieving validation with MVI is a testament to the high level of professionalism, advanced qualifications and specialization of our doctors.
“We are confident that the revalidation process helps us to uphold our high standards and the quality of care we provide. I’m very proud of our team for successfully achieving revalidation and for remaining steadfast in our commitment to care for each and every patient with compassion, safely and effectively,” said Dr Al Kuwari.
HMC and PHCC engaged the Irish consortium, which was managed by MVIRL (a subsidiary of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), in 2013 to complete a peer review of the credentials of every consultant.
More than 30 MVIRL representatives joined the celebration to mark the successful conclusion of the revalidation program. These included presidents and deans of all the participating colleges who worked closely with HMC and PHCC.
