DOHA: The Indonesian expatriates in Qatar celebrated Eid with morning prayers and a community gathering in the evening on the first day of Eid.
Some 800 Indonesians performed Eid prayers at the sports ground of the Tariq Bin Ziyad Independent Secondary School for Boys on Thursday.
Ali Imran Gawi led the prayers and the Eid sermon was delivered by Saharudin. The prayers were organized by the Indonesian Moslem Society in Qatar - IMSQA in association with the Indonesian embassy.
In the evening, the Indonesian ambassador to Qatar Deddy Saiful Hadi hosted an Eid Open House at his residence for embassy staff and community members.
The gathering called “Halal Bihalal” in Indonesian language was also attended by members of the diplomatic corps.
