Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has raised the maximum admission age limit for students with disabilities and learning difficulties to be permitted to enroll in schools in Qatar.

This came in an announcement made today, April 12, 2026, during a press conference where the Ministry introduced a set of updates to streamline student admission procedures, clarify documentation requirements, thus easing the entry process for certain categories of students.

The maximum permitted age limit for pre-school to Grade 4 has been raised by one year, while that from Grade 5 to Grade 12 has been raised by two years.

This allows a child with a disability or learning difficulty to be in pre-school if they are below 5 years, 11 months and 29 days. Meanwhile, the maximum age bar for Grade 10 has been raised to 18 years, 11 months and 29 days.
