DOHA: Qatar has provided a fourth instalment of humanitarian assistance worth $25m to Syrians in refugee camps in northern Lebanon.

It aims to provide food and clothing to 200,000 people and health assistance to 60,000. A public health centre will be set up in Wadi Khalid to treat about 10,000 patients a month.

The clinic will provide medicines and emergency care to patients and perform surgeries.

The assistance will cover areas of northern Bekaa Valley, Akar, Al Dhaniyah and Tripoli Alia.  Qatar has so far disbursed $68m aid.

Doha also continues to provide assistance to affected Syrian people in their country, including Damascus and its suburbs, Edlib suburb and refugee camps along the border with Turkey.

About one million Syrians are receiving food, clothing, medical aid and education services under the project.  A council or society in each city has been assigned to ensure delivery of aid to the needy, Qatar News Agency reports.
