Sofia: Levski Sofia announced Friday that head coach Stoycho Stoev was leaving the club after defeat last week ruled them out of winning the Bulgarian title.

Stoev, 53, signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Levski in December 2014 but has agreed to leave by mutual consent, the club said.

A replacement has yet to be named.

The 26-time Bulgarian League champions suffered a bitter home loss on Tuesday to Lokomotiv Plovdiv that crowned Ludogorets Razgrad as Bulgarian League champions, three rounds before the end of the season.

Levski are now second in the table, 14 points behind Ludogorets.
