DOHA: The need for a plan to meet the present and future water and electricity needs of the region was highlighted at the Arab Union of Electricity (AUE) by the President of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari.
Al Kuwari, who is also the chairman of AUE, explained about the need for better planning at their 38th board meeting being held in Sana, Yemen.
In his speech, AUE Chairman touched on issues of main interest such as Arab electricity marker, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
“Since inception in 1987, AUE has attained various achievements. It is now one of the active and effective bodies on the Arab and international arena. AUE participated in activities aims to serve Arab electricity sector,” said Al Kuwari
“We have to anticipate the future by setting plans to develop AUE to meet the current and future requirements” he added.
