DOHA: Two Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) building projects have been recognised for excellence in their design at prestigious regional awards ceremonies.

The Positron Emission Tomography (PET CT) Center at HMC’s National Center for Cancer Care and Research was awarded ‘Best Designed Hospital Facility in the Middle East’ at the Hospital Build and Infrastructure Middle East Exhibition and Congress in Dubai last week.

The award was accepted by   Group Chief of Facilities and Workforce Development Hamad Al Khalifa, who headed a delegation of four engineers from HMC’s Healthcare Facilities Development Department, Health Facilities Development — Naeem Younis, Bernadette Farrell, Amro Metwalli, and Yahya Taher — at the event.

In another recognition of HMC’s commitment to developing high quality facilities, HMC also won an award at the Cityscape Qatar 2013 Exhibition held in Doha in May. The Community and Culture Project Award were given to HMC’s Skilled Nursing Facility. This is the second year in a row HMC took home this award. Al Khalifa said that HMC’s Healthcare Facilities Development Department strives to maintain the highest international standards in the Corporation’s facilities.
