Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday received phone call from Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki.
During their talk, the Emir and the Tunisian president reviewed ties between Qatar and Tunisia and ways of enhancing them, as well as the latest developments in Palestine, particularly Gaza Strip.
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani have sent cables of congratulations to President Omar Hassan Al Bashir of Sudan on the success of a surgical operation he has undergone, wishing him speedy recovery.
Brussels: Sorin Ducaru, Nato assistant secretary general for emerging security challenges, has met Qatar’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, at Nato headquarters in Brussels.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed relations between the two countries as well as administrative and logistical arrangements related to the Nato conference on disarmament and weapons of mass destruction, due to be held in Doha next year.
It is the first time the conference will take place in the Middle East.
Doha: The Ministry of Interior has called on sponsors, including citizens, residents and enterprises, to lodge complaints on absconding workers through Metrash2 services in order to save time and effort.
The ministry has activated this service, which allows sponsors to notify the police on absconding workers, through the window Public Services on Metrash2.
The director of the Search and Follow-up Department, Brigadier Nasser Issa Al Sayed, said that the ministry was seeking to promote an integrated electronic system for all services provided to citizens and residents.
