Soldier injured in Pakistan firing on LoC in Poonch district

Jammu: An Indian soldier was injured yesterday in firing by the Pakistan army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region.
“Pakistan army carried out unprovoked firing at our positions in Bhimber Ghali area of LoC in Poonch today (Wednesday),” defence spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta said.
“Pakistan army started firing at 10am today using small arms and automatic weapons. Our soldiers gave befitting reply using similar calibre weapons.
“One soldier was injured on our side because of the Pakistan firing.”
Pakistan Rangers also violated the ceasefire along the International Border yesterday in R S Pura sector of Jammu district.
Pakistan Rangers fired at three Border Security Force posts in R S Pura sector.
A police officer said Pakistan Rangers targeted three Border Security Force (BSF) posts - Pital Post, Kaku-de-Kothae and Tent Post.
“Pakistan Rangers violated ceasefire in Arnia area in R S Pura late yesterday (Tuesday) night and early today (Wednesday),” a police officer told IANS here.
“Pakistan firing started at 11.55pm yesterday (Tuesday) night and stopped at 1am today (Wednesday),” the officer said.
The Pakistan Rangers again began firing at 3am local time yesterday. The officer said the BSF had effectively retaliated the firing.
