New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan to build 100 smart cities would get a fillip during External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s visit to Singapore from August 15 to 17 as the island nation has offered to help India with it. Sushma Swaraj is travelling to Singapore as part of the 50th year anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations.
External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said at a press briefing yesterday that the minister would meet Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and also interact with eminent leaders and think-tanks of the country. She will also seek Singapore’s cooperation in Modi’s ‘Smart-Cities’ project and also their help in the rejuvenation of Indian cities, besides holding bilateral talks.
