Paris: Qatar participated in the Inclusive Forum on Carbon Mitigation Approaches (IFCMA) hosted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. Qatar was represented in the forum by its Ambassador to France H E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani.
Secretary-General of OECD H E Mathias Cormann welcomed all the participants and stressed that the IFCMA is designed to help improve the global impact of emissions reduction efforts around the world through better data and information sharing, evidence-based mutual learning, and inclusive multilateral dialogue.
The forum aims to discuss the coordination of carbon emissions mitigation policies through inventorying, classifying, and analysing the policies and then evaluating their impact in mitigating emissions, allowing governments to estimate the progress made and best achievable practices, Cormann said.
