DOHA: A visiting Indian business delegation is looking for opportunities in Qatar’s upcoming economic zones and infrastructure sector.
The delegation, headed by Industrialist and senior politician Amar Singh, said the Indian business team is also interested in Qatar’s education sector.
During an interaction section being hosted by Satco International, here on Tuesday, Amar Singh said the Indian delegation is keen on exploring investments in Qatar’s hydrocarbon sector as well. Qatar is an ideal investment destination as it provides world-class infrastructure facilities and cheap power, he said.
Singh said his latest visit to Qatar is also aimed at re-connecting with his friends and people of Indian origin. He said he was surprised to see the rapid growth of Qatar over the past few years. He praised the Qatari leadership for making Qatar as one of the ‘most happening places’ in the world. “There are some places in the world that have resources but lacks vision, while others have vision but no resources. Or there may be both but no will to execute them. In Qatar, there is everything; the vision, the will and huge resources”.
Another delegation member Jayaprada, an actor-turned politician, noted Qatar also offers great investment opportunities in the sport and entertainment sector. Qatar has great potential to emerge as one of the best destinations in the region for investors in filmmaking. The country has attractive locations to woo filmmakers from India. India’s Bollywood can do wonders in Qatar with the support of and cooperation from of Qatari authorities.
Leading Qatari businessmen, including Mohammed bin Ahmed Tawar Al Kuwari , Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber; Dr Ibrahim Saleh Al Naimi, chairman of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID; Saif Muhammed Al Kuwari; Jamal Sherida Al Kaabi and Muhammad Althaf, Regional Director of Lulu Group of Companies in Qatar, were among others who attended the event.
Qatar’s Satco International Group General Manager M.S. Bukhari hosted the luncheon in honour of visiting Indian business delegation and the specially invited Qatari businessmen.
