Doha, Qatar: Tomorrow, October 16, 2025, marks the first day of Al-Wasmi season and will last for 52 days, ending on December 6, 2025.

In a social media post, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) explained this period is characterised by the movement of clouds from the west to the east, with early rainfall considered a sign of a good rainy season.

This season is called Al-Wasmi due to its association with the  type of rain that helps various plants grow, including the truffle and Geranium (Al-Yarwa), stated the department.

It further highlighted that temperatures in Doha typically drop during this period, with warm days and mild nights that tends to turn cold at times, particularly with the blowing of dry Northwesterly winds.
