DOHA: A trough (low pressure) in the region caused unstable weather, with Qatar receiving scattered showers until late yesterday. The northern and western areas of the country witnessed more rains. People can expect similar weather tomorrow and the day after, weather forecasters told this newspaper.
“We expect rains on Sunday and Monday,” a forecaster said, adding that northwesterly winds blowing from colder regions could lower temperatures until Monday.
Day temperatures might drop to between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius, while at some places the mercury could dip to as low as 13 degrees in the night. The minimum temperature, however, is likely to average 16 and 17 degrees Celsius. “This weather condition is expected to last a few days,” said the forecaster.
The sea is expected to be rough today with the wind gathering speeds of up to 25 knots offshore. Inshore, the wind speed would be between five and 15 knots. The forecaster said his bureau had already issued high and low tide timings for various places, including Doha, Umm Saeed, Al Wakra, Al Khor, Ruwais and Dukhan. “We have issued warnings.”
Visibility will not be affected much and has been forecast at between four and eight kilometres for today.
