DOHA: The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) recently organised its third students’ forum.
It hosted over 1,000 students from 39 middle and secondary schools.
Brig. Ali Mohammed Al Rashid, Commander, Special Operations, Brig. Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhanna Al Marri, Director, Police College, commanders and officers from different units and departments were present.
The forum aimed to introduce to the students Lekhwiya’s role in maintaining security and stability in Qatar, and promoting patriotism and loyalty.
By attending such events students are expected to learn about efforts of various forces to combat crime and maintain peace and stability which is the responsibility of all nationals and expatriates in Qatar.
Lekhwiya showcased skills, training system, equipment and how it deals with cases and situations.
The forum began with parades by different units of Lekhwiya and its intervention to rescue people or search using paratroopers. The word ‘Lekhwiya’ is traditionally used by Qataris to indicate security forces responsible for maintaining peace and order.
