Doha: Artists, school students, Qatari intellectuals, and journalists participated in a ceremony hosted by Qatar News Agency (QNA) on its premises yesterday as part of National Day celebrations.
Al Hayat International School students and children from the community participated in the event in the morning in the presence of teachers, QNA administrative staff and journalists.
Students performed patriotic songs, read out poems and the national anthem with zeal that encapsulated the spirit of nationalism, loyalty to homeland, a sense of belonging and love for the leadership and people.
The students, in national attire, performed in the backdrop of a traditionally designed maroon stage that showcased Qatari cultural motifs.
As part of National Day celebrations, a five-day photographic exhibition on images from Qatar’s past and present by Qatari artist Arif Hussain opened at the premises.
Winners of an art competition on National Day theme hosted by QNA’s Culture Department were announced. The competition was held for 5-9 and 10-15 age groups.
