Islamabad: A moderate earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit late last night the northern areas of Pakistan.
Pakistan's National Seismological Center said that the epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 180 kilometers in Hindu Kush Mountains in the far north of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
There were no reports of damage or injuries from the quake.
