Go ahead with projects: Emir

DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, yesterday asked the government to go ahead with its plans to launch various key projects and initiatives aimed at boosting economic development.
The Emir approved a number of projects and measures that aim to, among other things, earmark budgets for allocating new plots of land for a number of crucial requirements.
They include housing, commercial activities, warehousing and industrial needs, health, education and agriculture. 
The Emir instructed the government to press ahead with these projects and execute them in accordance with the plan of action drawn up for them.
Earlier, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, made a presentation on a number of government projects and initiatives to support economic development, QNA reported.  The Peninsula
The presentation was made at a meeting of the Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investment, chaired by the Emir. Made by the Premier, it covered the government’s initiatives to support industry, commercial areas, tourism, food security, roads and public transportation and labour housing and promoting trade and economic sectors of priority. The strategy of projects of the storage sector was also discussed during the presentation and plans for offering markets and commercial streets and building central markets. Bolstering money markets and the bourse was also discussed at the meeting and generally development plans related to sectors like industry, economic areas, tourism, food security, roads and public transportation and labour housing came up for discussion. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Emir and Vice- Chairperson of the council H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and the Minister of Finance and Secretary-General of the council H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi.
