Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has officially launched the “Enhancing Early Childhood Education” project under the slogan “Their Beginning Has a Story.”

The launch took place during a formal ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters yesterday. The event was attended by prominent educational leaders, specialists, representatives of partner entities, and parents, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to improving the quality of education from its earliest stages.

The project is a national strategic initiative stemming from the “Sunrise” (Shorooq Al-Shams) Program, which aims to solidify educational quality from the ground up.

It focuses on increasing community awareness regarding the importance of early childhood and its developmental characteristics, while highlighting the family’s role as a strategic partner in supporting a child’s capacity building. This ensures a solid foundation for the educational process in subsequent stages.

Dhabyah Al-Khulaifi, Director of the Early Education Department and National Lead for the “Sunrise” Program, emphasized that the project embodies a national direction to invest in a child’s first years. In her speech during the ceremony, she noted that parental awareness of the requirements of this stage is the fundamental pillar for achieving comprehensive and sustainable growth, which positively impacts the country’s overall educational journey.

The launch event featured an introductory visual presentation outlining the project’s core objectives, followed by a panel discussion that explored the importance of early intervention and the integration of roles between families and educational institutions. Furthermore, the ceremony included a presentation of a pre-launch survey conducted to measure parental awareness, which will serve as a baseline for the project’s future messaging and field activities.

The event concluded with a tour of interactive corners that demonstrated the concept of “Learning Through Play.”

These stations featured practical exercises and simplified educational materials designed to deliver the project’s message to families in an engaging and direct manner.

This reflects the Ministry’s steadfast commitment to investing in early childhood as the primary cornerstone for building promising generations capable of learning and positive participation, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 goals for human capital development and educational quality.
