WhatsApp rolled out new security features that includes allowing its users to select who from their contact list can see their Profile Photo, About and Last Seen status.
Previously one could change the privacy settings to everyone, my contacts or nobody. Now an additional option includes "My contacts except..."
Another step taken is to improve group voice calling, where new features introduced includes a banner notification whenever someone joins the call, allowing users to mute others, message specific people during a call.
Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart gave this information on Twitter as he tweeted, "Some new features for group calls on @WhatsApp: You can now mute or message specific people on a call (great if someone forgets to mute themselves!), and we've added a helpful indicator so you can more easily see when more people join large calls."
The app will also allow 512 members in a particular group, the number which was limited to 256 earlier.
WhatsApp also recently extended the group voice call limit to add upto 32 people in a call and allowing to move talks from Android to iOS devices.
Meanwhile WhatsApp is also working on various new features including group admins having the control to approve or reject joining requests and Do Not Disturb mode.
