Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Transport has reminded residents, citizens and visitors to use only licensed companies when booking passenger transport services through digital applications, as part of efforts to protect riders and ensure safe, regulated transport services.
“You can access the list of companies licensed by the Ministry of Transport to carry out land transport service activities using modern technology (software and electronic applications) in the State of Qatar,” the Ministry said in a post on its X account yesterday.
As per latest information, the Ministry published the list on August 13, on its website, of companies licensed to provide land transport services using modern technology and electronic applications in Qatar. The list includes Uber, badrgo, Aabir, Karwa, Ryde, EzGo, Wer2go, iDriver, WaselGo and QGlide.
The Ministry’s public licensing announcements give passengers a straightforward way to verify whether an app-based transport provider is authorised to operate in the country. Riders can check the Ministry of Transport’s official announcements before using an unfamiliar ride-hailing application.
The licensing system is more than a list of approved companies. It provides a regulatory framework intended to protect passengers by requiring operators to meet legal and safety requirements.
