Doha: Eid celebrations are set to light Doha with the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) organising a four-day packed entertainment programme for Eid Al Adha, in partnership with leading cultural, heritage and art institutions. The festivities, beginning from the first day of Eid Al Adha, will take place throughout different areas of Qatar.
QTA is keen to promote Qatar’s heritage and culture as well as the widest range of tourist attractions and activities that Qatar can offer. This underlines how Qatari society is distinguished today by its cultural diversity and a unique harmony of authentic traditions blended with contemporary lifestyles and tastes.
The Eid Al Adha festivity initiative follows the great success of the Eid Al Fitr celebration that saw a 43 percent increase in the number of visitors. Hotel occupation also increased to 55 percent between the 19th and 22nd of August. QTA’s aim is to promote Qatar as a world class tourism destination for business, leisure, culture, education and sport. Its role is to showcase the country’s unique cultural heritage and highlight its tourist attractions. One of these is Doha’s magnificent Museum of Islamic Art, which houses one of the world’s finest collections of Arabic Arts and was designed by I.M Pei, world famous for the Louvre in Paris.
Acknowledged as the fastest growing economy in the world, Qatar has taken its place on the world stage by hosting global sporting events such as the upcoming 2022 World Cup. As a world class business hub, Qatar is where visitors can also enjoy some of the finest hospitality in the world with luxury leisure facilities and abundant tourist activities. The Peninsula
