Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) forecast unstable weather conditions during the first and second days of Eid Al-Fitr, with a chance of thundery rain and strong winds across the country.
In its latest weather update, the department warned of expected thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds on both Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21.
For Friday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered rain that may become thundery. Winds will be mainly easterly to northeasterly.
Sea conditions are forecast at 3 to 6 feet, rising to 8 feet in thundery conditions, while visibility will range between 3 and 9 kilometres.
On Saturday, conditions are expected to be hazy to misty at first, becoming partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of scattered rain, which may also be thundery. Winds will be variable, mainly southeasterly to northeasterly.
Sea heights are expected to range between 3 and 6 feet, rising to 8 feet during thunderstorms, with visibility between 3 and 9 kilometres.
Temperatures on both days are forecast to range between 22°C and 26°C.
