Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani issued today Amiri Decision No. 20 of 2026 forming the Board of Directors of the Qatar Foundation for Innovation and Scientific Research.
The decision stipulates that the Board of Directors of the Qatar Foundation for Innovation and Scientific Research shall be chaired by Her Excellency Dr. Hessa bint Sultan Al Jaber, with Dr. Ahmed Khalifa Elmagarmid as Vice-Chair, and the following members: His Excellency Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Hamad Medical Corporation; Dr. Asma bint Ali Al Thani, Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences at Qatar University; Abdullah Hamad Al Misnad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qai; Hamad Ali Al Khater, CEO of Qatar Airways; a representative of the Qatar Investment Authority; and two experts selected by the Chairman of the Board.
The decision also stipulates that the term of membership on the Board shall be four years, renewable for one or more similar terms.
The decision is effective from the date of its issue and is to be published in the Official Gazette.
