Sapporo, Japan: Qatar’s Ice Hockey team began their campaign in the prestigious Asian Winter Games with a 6-2 defeat against Kuwait who compete under the IOC flag, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) said in its website on Wednesday.
The Asian Winter Games were officially got underway on Sunday with an opening ceremony that united winter athletes from the world’s most populous continent.
The games run through February 26 and feature more than 2,000 athletes from 31 countries competing in five sports, 11 disciplines and 64 events.
Team Qatar delegation to the games consists of 54 person among them 32 athletes alongside administrative and technical staff members.
The Asian Winter Games is a multi-sport event held every four years for members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) which features winter events.
