Doha: Qatar Stars League Chief Executive Officer Hani Taleb Ballan congratulated all the football stars and officials who were recognised at the glamourous Qatar Football Awards ceremony held on Saturday.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, CEO Ballan was full of praise for all of the award recipients.
“I would like to thank everyone from the players, administrators and staff who attended the awards ceremony, which makes the conclusion of the domestic season in Qatar. “
Hani also expressed some kind words for the three sides who picked up domestic honours in Qatar this year.
“Congratulations to Al Rayyan for claiming the QSL crown, also to El Jaish for lifting the Qatar Cup and to Lekhwiya who lifted the Emir cup on Friday. All three sides enjoyed good seasons and deserved their trophies,” he said.
Talk turned to the evening’s awards ceremony, and Hani was eager to praise the recipients of the awards. “Firstly, congratulations to Al Rayyan club on winning the player of the year and joint top scorer award with Rodrigo Tabata, along with the best coach award for Jorge Fossati and the best fans award. A special thanks to Chairman of Al Rayyan club, Sheikh Saud bin Khaled Al Thani for all his effort this season.”
He was also eager to congratulate Abdulrazak Hamdullah and El Jaish. “Congratulations to El Jaish and Hamdullah for winning the best sports administration award and also for Hamdullah in sharing the Mansor Muftah award, especially in his first season in the league.”
Qatari internationals Abdulkarim Hassan and Meshal Abdullah also received kind words from the QSL CEO after picking up an award each on the evening.
“Again, well done to both Abdulkarim and Meshal for their hard work for the season. Abdulkarim was the best U23 player in Qatar again, representing his club Al Sadd and the national team with distinction.”
Hani also moved on to praise Al Ahli captain Meshal Abdulla;
“Also congratulations to Meshal for his special achievement award, in recognition for his 100 goals in the QSL, only two other Qatari’s have achieved this feat so Meshal is in a very select group of players.”
While the QSL CEO has some words for Mohammed Al Langawi, who received a special commemoration award, after passing away earlier this year.
“With great respect, I would like to thank the late Mohammed Al Langawi for his work over the years in Qatari football. Tonight’s award was a fitting tribute for him.”
“I wish all the sides the best. Now is a time to prepare and focus for the new season,” he added.
