Twenty Qatari students compete in the final of ‘Bilal Al-Asr’ competition

Doha, Qatar: The final round of the fourth edition of the “Bilal Al-Asr” competition will take place today, bringing together 20 outstanding Qatari high school students who advanced through the earlier stages of the nationwide contest.

Organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Mosques, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the event aims to celebrate excellence in the proper recitation and performance of the Adhan and Iqamah.

The final evaluations will be held at Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani Mosque in The Pearl, starting at 9:00 AM. A specialized judging panel led by Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Marri and comprising Sheikh Dhafer Al-Hajri, Sheikh Muath Al-Qasimi, and Mohammed Ghuloom will assess the students’ vocal abilities and mastery of the religious rules governing both the call to prayer and the Iqamah.

Twenty talented students have qualified for this year’s final round after demonstrating exceptional performance in the previous stages.

They represent both government and private secondary schools across the country and will compete for the top positions and the prestigious title of “Bilal Al-Asr,” along with the financial prizes allocated for the winners.

The finalists have shown remarkable vocal skills, strong command of the rules related to the Adhan and Iqamah, and the ability to deliver them with clarity and reverence.

The finalists are Mohammed Ali Mohammed Al-Hulaidi Al-Yafei, Jassim Khalifa Mohammed Ahmed Al-Hammadi, Abdullah Ali Mohammed Saleh Al-Awadi, Rashid Abdullah Mohammed Ali Al-Ghanem, Saleh Ali Mar’i Al-Gharama Al-Qahtani, Abdulrahman Mohammed Ali Salem Al-Suwaidi, Mohammed Hamad Mubarak Al-Mu’adhin Al-Sulaiti, Hamad Saeed Rashid Al-Adhba, Ali Nasser Mohammed Hamad Al-Buhaih, Rashid Hizam Mohammed Rashid Andeilah, Ahmed Khalifa Ahmed Al-Mansouri, Amer Hassan Ali Al-Hassan Al-Fuhaida, Faris Saud Raheel Al-Toumi Al-Shammari, Jassim Hamad Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Malki, Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Al-Obaidly, Abdulrahman Fahad Yousef Ali Al-Ali, Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Al-Shammari, Tamer Abdullah Saleh Al-Hamairi Al-Yafei, Abdullah Salman Khamis Muftah Al-Abdullah, and Ali Hudhaifa Waleed Ahmed Hindi.

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will award motivational cash prizes to the top ten winners, with the first-place winner receiving QR7,000. Prizes gradually decrease to QR2,000 for the tenth place, while finalists ranking from 11th to 20th place will each receive QR1,500. in recognition of their efforts and participation.
