Valletta: The President of Malta George Abela yesterday met with the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari who is the President of XIII Unctad.
Abela entrusted the Minister of Culture to convey his greetings to the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Maltese President also expressed his appreciation of the vital role Qatar is playing on the international stage.
The Minister of Culture’s visit to Malta came in his capacity as a President of XIII Unctad and to attend a lecture on Marine Sciences. The lecture was organised by the International Ocean University and the University of Malta.
The Minister spoke on the role of Unctad and the Doha Manar Document. He also spoke about the city of Doha in its capacity as a successful destination for holding international conferences.
The President of the XIII Unctad expressed his confidence that the city will succeed in hosting the conference due to its strong infra-structure and its experience in hosting other international events.
