The 12th annual Global Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) took place recently in Beijing with 143 delegates from 75 countries, senior IIA leaders, staff and four Associated Organizations. These leaders came together to learn about IIA initiatives, share their insights on key strategies that impact the profession, and network with colleagues. Hassan Al Mulla, President, and Sundaresan Rajeswar, Board member of IIA Qatar, participated.
“The active engagement by participants made this event a valuable experience and the co-hosts IIA-China extended hospitality, generosity, and outstanding efforts. Global Council is a unique opportunity for Institute leaders from around the world to collaborate, network, and share information on an informal basis,” Hassan said. “In a unique event, the IIA leaders from around the world participated in the collective commitment ceremony by symbolically signing in a pennant as affirmation to actively follow up, collaborate and remain engaged in all the issues, ideas and suggestions discussed. This commitment included furnishing two specific ideas of how each institute will support each of the strategic goals,” stated Rajeswar. The Peninsula
