Cairo: Arab League welcomed the decision of the United States to re-open its consulate in Jerusalem, saying it represents "an important step to strengthen relations between Washington and the Palestinian side."
In a statement today, the Arab League considered that this step is a correction of a mistake made by the previous US administration in its decision to close the consulate, which for decades remained a diplomatic bridge between the United States and Palestine, stressing that the new step reflects a positive approach by the current US administration, especially in terms of the clear recognition of a solution. Two states as the only way to settle the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
