DOHA: The Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF), a social service organisation in Qatar, has distributed Qurbani meat (sacrificial meat) to needy families in 61 countries for Eid Al Adha.
The countries from four continents (Africa, Asia, Europe and South America) which have been facing starvation, national disasters and civil wars such as Palestine, Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar were chosen for the distribution of sacrificial meat by the Foundation.
The countries which are hosting Syrian refugees such as Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon were also on the list.
The Foundation said that it had launched a campaign titled ‘They are waiting for your sacrificial meat’ to raise funds for this purpose. It is part of the RAF’s yearly social service activities.
The Foundation also received funds from donors through its official website.
